Áine Taaffe (née O’Grady) Clarecastle, Co Clare and late of Dublin Road, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
Our beloved Áine died peacefully on 7th July 2026 at her beautiful home, surrounded by her loving husband, her family and her dear friend, following an illness borne with great courage and dignity.
Predeceased by her much loved father Kevin.
A dearly loved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Áine will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her husband Tom, her mother Patricia (Patsy), her brothers Brian and Shane, her sisters‑in‑law Mary and Róisín, her brother‑in‑law Patrick, her much adored and cherished niece Isobel, Shane’s partner Cera, her relatives, her kind neighbours, an incredible circle of friends, and her former colleagues at Saffron & Blue Medical Clinic.
Áine’s family would like to thank the staff of the Mid-West Oncology Unit (UHL), the Milford Community Hospice Team in Clare, Public Health Nurses (Clare), Clare Intervention Team and all those who cared for Áine. We are especially grateful to her sister-in-law Mary and her dear friends Clare and Liz whose unwavering devotion, constant presence and quiet commitment brought comfort and serenity to Áine from the moment she returned to her home.
The family also wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who have supported us during this time.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home Mullingar (N91 K660) on Thursday 9th July from 5 pm concluding with prayers at 7 pm. Áine’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday 10th July at 11 am in the Cathedral of Christ the King followed by burial in Walshestown Cemetery. The Mass may be viewed on the live webcam at http://www.mullingarparish.ie
