The death has occurred of Fr Diarmuid O’Riain OFM, Franciscan Friary Multyfarnham, Co Westmeath, formerly of Galbally, Co Limerick – April 15, 2026 – (peacefully) in the excellent care of the staff at Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham.

Predeceased by his sisters, Ann, Sister Kathleen and Sister Enda.

Fr Diarmuid will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister, Breda, brothers, Tim and Michael, nephews and nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, his Franciscan community and many friends.

Reposing at The Franciscan Friary Church, Multyfarnham on Friday April 17, from 5 pm to 6.30 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 18 at 12 noon and may be viewed on the live webcam at the link below.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
