Ellen Darby (Née Mitchell) – late of Chestnut Drive, Mullingar and formerly of Clanrye Drive, Whifflet, Scotland – February 22, 2026. Ellen died peacefully in her 91st year with her loving family by her side and in the excellent care of the staff at Newbrook Nursing Home Mullingar.

Reunited with her beloved husband Christy. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and May, brothers Patrick, Michael and Peter, sister May and her recently deceased grandson Stephen.

Ellen will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Jimmy, Marie, Linda and Chris, her cherished grandchildren Michelle, Peter, Christopher, Clifford, Donna, Jennifer, Laura and Sinead, her much loved great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Newbrook Nursing Home Chapel Mullingar (N91 D232) on Wednesday 25th February from 5 pm concluding with prayers at 7 pm.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 26th February at 11 am in the Church of the Assumption Walshestown (N91 YY57) followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.  The Mass may be viewed live on this link https://www.youtube.com/@midlandsfuneralslive1504.
