Olive Sharkey (Née Dunican) – Gaulmoylestown, Knockdrin, Mullingar, Co Westmeath – died peacefully on February 18th, 2026 in the presence of her husband and in the excellent care of the staff at the ICU, Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, following a long illness borne with great courage, humour and dignity.

Predeceased by her parents Pat and Maxie.

Olive will be sadly missed by her husband Denis, brother-in-law Philip, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home Mullingar (N91 K660) on Friday February 20th from 5 pm concluding with prayers at 6.15 pm. Removal to the Church of the Assumption Taghmon arriving at 7 pm.
