John (Lofty) Plunkett – Newtown Lawns, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Our dear John died peacefully at home on February 13, 2026, following an illness bravely borne, in the company of his devoted wife and children.

A much loved husband, father, son, brother and friend; John will be very dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife and best friend Mary and his adored children Lisa and Ian.  Also sadly missed by his dear parents Kevin and Mai, sister Elaine, brothers Tony and Derek, mother-in-law Mollie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and his wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home Mullingar (N91 K660) on Monday February 16th from 3 pm to 6 pm with Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30 pm.  .

Funeral Mass on Tuesday February 17th at 11 am and may be viewed on http://www.mullingarparish.ie.

Cremation will take place at Lakelands Crematorium Cavan at 2.30 pm. and may be viewed on http://www.lakelandscrematorium.ie using Password Crem17T.
