The death has occurred of Thomas (Tommy) Gillen

Thomas (Tommy) Gillen, “Woodview”, Cullionbeg, Mullingar, Co Westmeath – retired Psychiatric Nurse, St Loman’s Hospital – November 16, 2020 peacefully in his 92nd year following a short illness in the loving care of his family. Beloved husband of Mary Josephine (Dolly) and father of Brian, Gerry, Maurice and Declan. Tommy will be greatly missed by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law Ann, Mary, Liz and Tessa, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, wonderful neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE

In line with Government guidelines, a private Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 12 noon in the Cathedral of Christ the King Mullingar followed by burial in Taughmon Cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed on the live webcam at www.mullingarparish.ie.  Tommy’s family are conscious of the need to protect Public Health and you are asked to abide by the family’s wish that sympathisers should not call to the family home. The family would like to thank you one and all for the part that you have played in ensuring that Tommy’s long and happy life has been suitably celebrated. Those wishing to express their condolences to Tommy’s family may do so in the Condolence Book section on rip.ie.  Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Unit c/o Mullingar Regional Hospital.

Coolnagun, Lismacaffrey, Co Westmeath and late of staff of St Loman’s Hospital, Mullingar

on January 5, 2017 (peacefully) at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore.
Beloved daughter of the late Joe and Maisie and dear sister of Vera (Rhatigan), Mel and Kathleen (Garry); sadly missed by her loving family, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces,nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home Mullingar on Friday from 6.15 o’c concluding with evening prayers at 8 o’c.
Funeral Mass on Saturday at 1 o’c in St Mary’s Church, Boherquill followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan at 3.30 o’c approx.

 

The death has occurred of Mary HYLAND (née Grimes)

Ginnell Terrace, Mullingar, Westmeath on

3 January 2017 (peacefully) in the devoted care of the matron and staff of Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham. Beloved wife of the late Michael and dear mother of Patricia (Blake), Síle (Moynihan) and Michael; she will be sadly missed by her loving family, her much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Tommy, sons-in-law Padraig and Colman, daughter-in-law Emer, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home on Thursday from 3 o’c followed by Removal to St Paul’s Church arriving at 5.30 o’c. Funeral Mass on Friday the feast of The Epiphany at 12 noon followed by burial in Walshestown Cemetery.
