The death has occurred of Brendan Smyth – Lynn Heights, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and formerly Granard, Co Longford – May 4, 2025 (peacefully) at home in the tender and devoted care of his partner Margie following an illness borne with great courage and dignity.

Predeceased by his parents Maureen and Jack, and Margie’s daughter Karen.

Brendan will be forever loved and missed by Margie, his daughter Brenda, her partner Shane, Margie’s family Dawn and Elaine, their partners Keith and Joel, the late Karen’s husband Stephen, cherished grandsons Leo and Otis, brothers, sisters, extended family, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home, College Street, Mullingar (N91 K660) on Tuesday May 6, 2025 from 5 pm concluding with prayers at 7 pm.

Cremation will take place on Wednesday May 7, 2025 at 11 am in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan (H12 RF78).

The family would like to sincerely thank all who cared for Brendan during his illness.
