The death has occurred of Jerry (Jeremiah) Clifford (Retired Superintendent An Garda Síochana) – Walshestown, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and late of Fermoy, Co Cork and Drogheda, Co Louth – August 15, 2023 (peacefully) with his loving wife and family by his side and in the tender care of the staff at Portiuncula Nursing Home, Multyfarnham.

Dearly beloved husband of Maeve (née Maguire) and much loved father of Karen (Gunnell), Sheena (Foy), Darina (Maguire), Róisín (Masterson), Eibhlín (Harrington) and Shane, loving grandad to his twenty grandchildren and loving great-grandad to his great grandson.   Sadly missed by his devoted wife and family, brothers Billy and Seamus, sisters Eileen and Anne, sons-in-law Enda, Tony, Barry, Oisín and Derek and Shane’s partner Enya, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, former colleagues in An Garda Síochana and a large circle of friends.

MAY JERRY REST IN PEACE

Reposing at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home (N91 K660) on Thursday August 17th from 4 p.m. concluding with prayers at 7 p.m.

Requiem Mass on Friday August 18th at 11 a.m. in the Cathedral of Christ the King and may be viewed on the live webcam here.

Burial will take place in Walshestown Cemetery.

No flowers please;  donations in lieu, if desired, to The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
